Health and Safety : WGC subscribes to CITB providing an on-going programme of training to further the safe working practices of our employees. All operatives, regardless of discipline take the on-site health and safety test.

Training : All plant operatives are CPCS qualified. Team Leaders have NRSWA accreditation in all modules and NVQ2 in Construction and Civil Engineering Services.

Certification : CHAS, BALI, Marshall's Register, Constructionline, Environment Agency - Control of Pollution (Amendment) Act 1989, North Yorkshire County Council Approved Contractors for work in the Highway, Addagrip & SureSet Approved Installers, SAFEcontractor.

Scope of Work : Hard and Soft Landscape Works, Highway and Groundworks, Design and Maintenance. (75% New Build, 25% Maintenance).

Value of Works undertaken : up to £750k for a wide range of clients, including Local Authorities, other Public Bodies and Commercial Developers.

Sustainability : WGC are committed to caring for the environment and as such have practices in place for addressing green issues. Our fleet of vehicles and wagons run on low sulphur diesel and peak time travelling is avoided. Transport sharing is encouraged together with the most efficient means of accessing our sites to reduce unnecessary mileage. Recycling is of prime concern : we compost all suitable arisings, salvage superfluous materials and sort waste to reduce the amount sent for landfill. Hazardous materials are disposed of safely and as recommended.
